Meet our coaches and staff

Beth Davis

Beth is the owner of CFS and a Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. She grew up playing volleyball and in cheerleading and gymnastics, and found a love of weightlifting in high school (thank you, Coach Morley). Introduced to CrossFit in 2012, Beth was drawn to the constantly varied movements based in strength training, weightlifting and functional gymnastics. After a cancer diagnosis and surgery, Beth started regular CrossFit training to achieve optimum fitness and find a like-minded, healthy and supportive community.

Beth started coaching in 2018. She's in Year 2 with Affiliate University and increases her knowledge with regular CrossFit courses and AU's coach development. Beth enjoys coaching gymnastics and helping athletes build confidence in movement standards. Out of the gym, Beth is mom to Kaia & Sam, a 25-year employee of the US Forest Service, and enjoys everything our beautiful mountains and rivers have to offer.

Sammi Gentile

Being an athlete has always been a big part of Sammi's life. "Growing up in this small town there was very little to do, other than spending my days at the park or in the gym. The world of fitness brings some pretty amazing people into your life that make an incredible impact. I found CrossFit in 2016 and fell in love with the sport and all the people involved."

"I believe my passion for helping others is what has led me here. I love helping people perform well in the gym, but really get the most out of helping people step out of their comfort zone, like, getting to witness that moment when it clicks during a gymnastics movement or lift, standing with someone as they regain a better relationship with food, and being there as someone becomes comfortable in their own skin."

Dave Schultz

Originally from Black Earth, Wisconsin, Dave started CrossFit training in 2013 in Colorado Springs (CF Pandora's Box), began coaching in 2018 and recently completed the L-2 training course. His favorite movement to teach is the deadlift and his favorite workout is Murph. Dave's love of coaching comes from witnessing how CrossFit has benefitted himself and many others.

"I enjoy helping people better themselves, achieve personal goals and get fit for everyday life!"

BAILEY DEBUANO

As a fifth-generation Salida local, Bailey is proud to represent her hometown inside the gym and out. She’s been part of the CrossFit Salida community since 2020 and now channels that same dedication into coaching—especially when it comes to barbell movements, her favorite to teach.

Bailey is passionate about making CrossFit accessible and inclusive for everyone. She creates a supportive environment where athletes of all backgrounds and experience levels can feel confident, challenged, and successful. Her philosophy is simple: " it doesn't matter how you show up but if you put in the work, even if it's 1% you will leave as a better version of yourself."

Gavin danfelt-martin

Gavin’s fitness journey began as an endurance athlete, conquering marathons and pushing his limits in long-distance challenges. In 2017, he discovered CrossFit and was immediately drawn to its unique combination of strength, conditioning, and community. Before CrossFit, Gavin spent two years as a personal trainer certified by ACSM, but CrossFit quickly became his passion. After earning his CrossFit Level 1 certification, he jumped in with both feet, earning his Level 2 shortly after and managing two CrossFit gyms in Minneapolis for over five years.

Outside the gym, Gavin is thriving in Colorado’s mountain lifestyle. He and his partner Jill spent two years traveling the country as RV nomads with their two fur babies: a sassy American bulldog and a cross-eyed mini-Maine Coon. Their travels brought them to Salida, where they’ve spent the last two summers exploring the area’s breathtaking scenery and vibrant outdoor culture. Gavin is embracing his second Colorado winter, diving into mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking 14ers, and everything the Rockies have to offer.

As a coach, Gavin’s philosophy is simple: help athletes discover their potential through smart progression, all while keeping fitness fun and approachable. Whether you’re stepping into a CrossFit gym for the first time or aiming to hit the next level in your training, Gavin is here to guide, inspire, and cheer you on every step of the way.

“Have fun, don’t die!”

Hannah rousseau

Hannah has been a CrossFit athlete for nearly three years and brings an unstoppable energy to every class she coaches. Whether it’s cleans, box jumps, or burpees—her favorites—she’s always ready to dive into the grind with a smile (and a killer playlist).

Hannah especially loves coaching the clean, a lift she believes builds power, confidence, and carries over into everyday movement. As a coach, she focuses on helping athletes improve one step at a time—whether that means dialing in technique or just remembering to squeeze your glutes before a lift.

What drives her most? The community. Hannah thrives in the class environment, leading with positivity, great music, and a deep appreciation for how CrossFit prepares us for whatever life throws our way.

When she’s not coaching, you’ll find her biking, running, or playing her keyboard—or out in the wild through her work with the Southwest Conservation Corps.

kylee hadley

CFO and athlete of CrossFit Salida since 2020, Kylee has been a staple in the gym, both for the staff and on the floor.

With a background in accounting that began in 2005 as a bookkeeper for a local plumbing company, Kylee discovered a passion for helping businesses thrive. That passion led to starting her own accounting business and earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2012 to deepen her knowledge and better serve her clients.

Kylee takes pride in supporting the financial health and growth of the business, working closely with Beth, to keep things running strong—both in and out of the gym.

"I CrossFit so I can face life's challenges, lift heavy things, live a healthy lifestyle, stay strong, and be part of an incredible community."

kaia Solana

Kaia manages administration, marketing, and client success for CrossFit Salida. A member for five years, she knows all about bringing attention to what sets CrossFit Salida apart: the coaching, the camaraderie, and the level of commitment that's hard to find elsewhere.

Her work focuses on keeping operations running smoothly and making sure members have what they need to get the most out of their time here. When she’s not behind the scenes, you’ll find her on the floor— cheering others on, supporting staff, and reinforcing values of CrossFit Salida— and sometimes training.

"As the daughter of CrossFit Salida’s owner, I've had a front-row seat to my mom’s dedication—not just to the sport, but to the people and the idea that committing to yourself makes you better in every sense. Watching that kind of commitment in action drives me to show it off all the more. I'm proud of my family, my community, and how the two have grown together into one of the coolest places with the toughest, kindest, and most badass people you can fit under one roof."

Helen Walser

Coach Helen is one of our newest coaches on staff, though she's no stranger to being a fitness trainer. Helen has been a member of CrossFit Salida since 2020, gaining her L1 Summer of 2025 and joining us as a coach soon after.

Sonya "Sunny" Filippini

Coach Sunny is one of our newest coaches on staff. Member since 2023 and gaining her L1 Summer of 2025.

After discovering CrossFit in 2018, she fully immersed herself in the sport in early 2023.

As a coach, Sunny thrives on watching athletes unlock new levels of confidence and capability. She’s driven by the belief that everyone deserves to feel empowered in their body and welcomed in the gym, no matter where they’re starting from or what’s on the whiteboard. Her mission is to create a space where progress feels possible and intimidating workouts become exciting opportunities.

Sunny’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of CrossFit. She knows firsthand how consistency and community can rewrite what you believe you’re capable of—and she’s passionate about helping others do the same.
